The Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Look

Alyse really wanted her eyes to pop so we added lots of lashes with a little smoke. We kept her eyeshadow colors a natural, brhttps://www.dating9.com/girlfriend-activation-system-review/onze hue and mixed in some highlight to give her that extra glow on her cheekbones.

Alyse was not used to wearing a lot of lipstick so we went with a nude lip and a lot of gloss on top.

The neckline of Alyse’s dress was so eye-catching and a side swept hairstyle with a slide clip proved to be the perfect complement.

The Wedding Venue

The backdrop for the ceremony was epic! If you are a bride who is wanting a more unique and unconventional wedding ceremony, the Neon Museum is the perfect place that brings old world Vegas with a modern, hipster approach.

This is such a cool venue for all kinds of events. Lots of couples choose to have their engagement photos shot here, too!

Alyse and Ken were so happy with the outcome of their Las Vegas destination wedding! We couldn’t be more thrilled for this couple and wish them all the best going forward with their new marriage. We are so glad Alyse chose us as her Las Vegas wedding makeup artist because we loved being apart of their day.

Why does the bride cost more? | Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist

With weddings being costly, Las Vegas wedding makeup artist, Brianna Michelle breaks down the cost of what goes into your cost of a wedding hair and makeup session.

You Get What You Pay For

We have all heard that term, right? Well instead of just taking someone’s word for it, I am here to break it down for you from a business perspective.

First and foremost, the bride service is always more than the rest of her wedding party because we do spend way more time with the bride! Those extra dollars help go into all the online consultations and time we spend emailing back and forth to ensure her day runs smooth. In addition, there are business licensing fees, beauty uniforms for all employees, makeup products, brush cleaners, continued education, phone bills, office supplies, gas, and administration fees. There is, also, the time of packing and cleaning brushes after a days work and emailing back and forth to make sure you wedding day runs smooth. These aren’t even all the expenses it takes to run a business, but you get the point, as you need to think in the employees payments too, but for these you can use a software like paystub to make everything easier. There is also a consultant that evaluates business and leadership ideas, from you can take classes.

These additional costs are factored into every bridal appointment. It is industry standard to spend way more time on the bride on her wedding day. Make sure your artist is spending more time with you to make sure you are happy with the overall look. I mean it is “your special day!” You don’t want cheap makeup, and makeup isn’t cheap. Your wedding day is not something you want to get at the bargain price for $49.99.

Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist Tips

If your looking to gain a quality wedding hair and makeup artist, it is best to book early. That way, also you can have time to save for the wedding, so it doesn’t feel your forking out a tin of money all at once. I know some brides book a year and a half in advance for their wedding, so they do not feel the financial pressure. This will help you slowly be able to pay off your wedding vendors, and feel great about the good quality of people you have hired for the big day!

XOXO, Brianna Michelle

My Wedding Is In 12 Days

My wedding is in 12 days, and I’ll be Mrs. Young and I am just bursting at the seams with joy, but man I don’t know where I am coming or going. It’s been non stop the last week with finalizing the wedding timeline, and everything with our vendors, etc and running Brianna Michelle Beauty. Talk about wedding brain!!!! It’s more like I have no brain- LOL However, I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!

Sometimes  you always know and I always knew I would feel this sense of satisfaction, and love fulfillment when I got married. Planning a wedding changes you and getting married changes you. It is something that is hard to describe, but you just change and I cant describe it, but it is like all of a sudden you feel the most loved, beautiful, wholeness that ever is. Perhaps it is like when you become a mom for the first time or how my mom friends are always explaining to me- well thats how I feel and I cant wait to share all the personal growth I have developed in myself since I have been on this journey to married life with my big girl pants on now! 🙂 I can hardly wait for the wedding! I am ready to become a wife and the queen of my castle!

So I am sharing with you a few things that I discovered to be prepared for during the last 2 weeks of your wedding day. Hope you find them helpful and if there is something I missed, please share below in the comments section!

THINGS DO GET HECTIC- BE PREPARED.

I got almost all my planning done by the end of April and things finalized. Literally everything down to the bridesmaids gifts, wedding favors and cake topper. This gave me some room my last few weeks for any upcoming incidentals, reconfirming with all my vendors, or things I wasn’t expecting to incur such as people not rsvp-ing on time, hunting them down and making sure my venue had all the items on the menu that we agreed some months ago during our tasting.

Yes, double check with all your vendors. There were a few items we had on the menu we selected months ago, that our venue contact said they were not carrying on the menu anymore, but luckily they were able to accommodate us so nicely. Price we paid for choosing a great venue and not the cheapest one on the list. You do get what you pay for. You can check out services like Dallas wedding venues to check out what suits your budget.

TIMELINE

I am still struggling to get this done and hope to have it done this week. Plan for at least 3 days so you don’t go crazy and work on it a little each day, if your doing it on your own and not hiring a coordinator.

I started with hair and makeup getting ready in the morning at 9am all the way down to the 11pm sparkler send off! Don’t forget to add on your timeline when your are signing the marriage license. Most do it right after the ceremony in the back room somewhere nearby.

DON’T FORGET YOUR TRIAL

Even if your a destination bride and flying in a day or two before, schedule a trial the day before. I actually had my hair trial months ago, and thank God I did. While the hairstylist did exactly what I asked for and was terrific, I didn’t like the look on myself and opted for something else. I was able to have a few trials here in Vegas with my own team, so she will be able to duplicate on the day of. I am doing my own makeup- everyone asks! :))

MAKE NOTE OF SPECIAL PHOTOS

If your like me and have this vision of how you want your photos to turn out and what shots are physically in your mind, I recommend taking some sample screen shots of some looks and not only sending them to your photographer via Pinterest, but writing them down on the timeline, so that as you go through it your Coordinator or Maid of Honor can make sure those shots are getting done. For example, if there’s certain shots you want with specific family members or the bride and groom shot with the brides veil over them or the fabulous and most popular sparkler send off shot add them to the wedding timeline!

PREPARE FOR GRATUITY

While most vendors include gratuity in their wedding contracts, it’s always appreciated to ask the venue or vendor if gratuity is included.  I have personally set aside cash gratuity in envelopes for all my vendors.

DELEGATE

It’s okay to allow people to help you! Your not expected to do everything on your own. Have a few people aside to be your “Gofers” so that they can help things go a bit more smooth on wedding day. I have set aside my bridesmaids and in additional another close friend.

IN ADDITION….

Last but not least, if you are generally not an organized person, HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER! Add it into your budget before booking anyone. I run a business, and I am extremely organized and this was ALOT for me. While we almost eloped I am so happy we are doing it the way I always dreamed of, even though it was so expensive. I can look back and feel good about the way we planned everything and became a MRS.!!!!!

Wedding Makeup Artist Pro Tips

Prepping for your wedding day can feel overwhelming! Here are some wedding makeup artist pro tips in making sure your look is perfect on the big day!

Treat Your Skin

Your wedding makeup will only look as well as you take care of your skin. Therefore being on a regular skincare routine, at least 4-6 weeks before the wedding is necessary in having beautiful smooth skin. I, personally, like to provide a custom tailored skin care routine to all my clients based on the current condition of their skin. You should at least be cleansing, exfoliating, using a serum, eye cream and moisturizer. Exfoliators, Serums and Eye Creams should NOT be purchased from your local drugstore as the ingredients have too many harsh chemical agents that tend to do more harm than good.

Book A Trial

Even if you are a destination bride, you should ALWAYS book a trial, for your wedding makeup, even if its the day before. Trials should consist of a full regular hair and makeup session and should at least be 2 hours for a successful trial with optimal results. Sometimes, even more time is needed. I would hesitate with any wedding makeup artist saying their trial is less than that time frame because you need to be able to spend time with the artist and get to know your wants, desires and best suitable option for wedding makeup. Its like saying “Yes to the Dress” but saying “Yes to the Makeup!”

Consider Your Dress

Your wedding makeup should match your dress. Not literally, of course, but the formality of it. If you dress is more light and boho, then the makeup should reflect that a bit so it all goes together for one beautiful shot. If your dress is super dramatic with lots of bling, the makeup, or course can be a more dramatic look.

Have More Than One Wedding Makeup Look

By having more than one option for your wedding makeup will give you more to work with. Sometimes, what you imagined for your look, doesn’t always translate well on you! Thats where we come in to help make subtle changes so the look translates well on you! By choosing a professional wedding makeup artist, the artist should be able to look at your inspiration photos and help determine what you like about each photo to customize and translate it well  for your personal face shape and needs. That is why its always important to go with someone who is experienced.

Consider Your Florals

Your floral colors can sometimes set the makeup look for the big day! You want the colors of your look to compliment the floral arrangements, as well as, your wedding bouquet. It all has a trickle effect, in creating the perfect look. My advice is choose the makeup inspiration photos after you have determined your wedding colors. Your wedding makeup artist will help you in customizing the perfect look. This will help everything flow together nicely for the perfect wedding day!

Destination Wedding Makeup | Kate and Casey

When you get asked to fly for a destination wedding to do the brides wedding makeup and hair, you cant help but feel so excited and thrilled! Kate married Casey on 5.18.17 in beautiful St Augustine, Florida at The White Room a gorgeous venue overlooking the Lions Bay Bridge. Casey having some Hawaiian roots, Kate and Casey chose to have Hawaiian styled elements throughout the ceremony and reception with a simple laid back feel. Therefore, when it came to Kate’s makeup, we went for the same approach.

las vegas wedding makeup

When I get asked for destination wedding makeup and hair, sometimes it can be a little tricky depending on what the climate is, as Vegas has complete opposite weather from Florida’s natural humidity. This is where my skill in chemistry comes in handy. Most people don’t think about the chemistry behind wedding makeup, but there is TONS of chemistry behind application and product to achieve long wear durability.

When determining what type of wedding makeup to apply, we first evaluate the clients skin type and texture, then build from there. I used a very light weight airbrush spray foundation on Kate with an underlying matte primer to help with the humidity a bit. Kate requested a very understated simple, but clean look and I think we nailed it. We contoured her cheeks slightly with Lorac Pro shimmer in Moonlight and Mac Cosmetics sculpting powder in Shadester with a kiss of Nars Orgasm blush. Kate wore our kiss proof lipsense color in Bombshell.

While bride was happy and groom even happier staring into his princesses eyes, we were successful! Kate’s wedding makeup was stunning and Alex did such an amazing job capturing their love for each other!

Airbrush Makeup Versus Photo Quality Makeup

There have been so many questions about airbrush makeup versus photo quality makeup in the last few months, I thought it would be nice to address the questions once in for all and give my professional opinion of both qualities, how they work, how they are different and why airbrush is not for everyone, and why I use BOTH!

Airbrush makeup versus quality makeup is different in the formula and how it is applied, but there are also different formulations. Airbrush formula can be made into a water based or even silicone base. Whereas photo quality makeup can be, also, created into different formulas such as hydrating formulas and more thick formulas for a full coverage look. Knowing how to evaluate your clients skin BEFORE choosing a formula is SUPER important because using the wrong formula could make or break the look you are trying to achieve.

Airbrush Makeup:

Airbrush makeup is known due to its light weight formula, providing medium to full coverage without looking or feeling heavy or cakey. Most airbrush formulas come out a silver gun attached to an airbrushing machine with compressor. Most commonly used wedding makeup formulas are Dinair and Temptu. These formulas applied buy the gun is just that. Its applied by the spray gun and you might be able to use a brush around the eye area for added concealer. It is not suppose to be added to my more product or other brush applications. Airbrush makeup is 16 hour wear and water resistant.

las vegas airbrush makeup
Airbrush Makeup Application

Photo Quality Makeup:

Photo Quality Makeup is much more versatile and versatile with other products and can still have the same 16 hour long lasting wear as the airbrush quality makeup. It comes in many different formulas, however, just keep in mind sometimes it does not chemically derive with all primers. Especially, silicone based primers, can be tricky. This is why you need to leave it up to your professional makeup artist to determine what time of primer you need based on the look, your skin and the type of foundation you are using.

las Vegas airbrush Makeup
Photo Quality Foundation Application

Now What?

It’s important to understand the chemistry of different makeup formulas, makeup application and how it applies to the skin and oxidizes, which is why I dont recommend using airbrush formula on everyone as sometimes this formula can be tricky on more mature skin. Their skin needs to be primed a certain way to accept the formula best. Certain primers can help accommodate airbrush makeup versus photo quality makeup and allow it to lay nicely on the skin.

Which One is Best For Me?

Allowing your makeup artist to make recommendations is best. Photo quality foundation can give a more natural look, versus the airbrush quality. Knowing that it is your wedding day, I always recommend a trial session and using a 16 hour wear foundation formula and, or, applying makeup in a way that is 16 hour wear and water resistant. I always customize the foundation formula to my clients needs and desired looks for best outcome!

Las Vegas Weddings- Riley and Kevin

Las Vegas has many wedding venues that don’t pose to the typical Elvis Chapel, such as the JW Marriott in Summerlin. Riley and Kevin chose one of my favorite all time wedding locations for the perfect backdrop to say their “I do’s.”

las vegas weddings
Las Vegas Weddings- JW Marriott

When Riley and I first had a chance to meet at her trial session, I knew it was an instant hit! Sweet, bubbly and full of life, I couldnt wait to create the perfect hair and makeup look for her wedding day! In addition, Riley and Kevin have know each other since preschool, so this look needed some extra getting to know that personalized all the history these two had!

Las Vegas Wedding Hair and Makeup

Knowing the backdrop of her venue, and her gorgeous wedding bouquet, I was able to customize Riley’s makeup look to match her bouquet, along with the sophistication of her gown.

Any makeup look for your wedding always initially starts with the eyes, so we went for something more natural and chose color tones that allowed the flecks of green in her hazel/brown eyes to pop a bit. Soft, and lightly smokey, we needed a little bit of smoke to balance out her sleek and sexy Katie May wedding gown!

Lips, which sometimes tend to get pushed aside a bit, are always one of the most important elements because they frame the smile, so we went with a more sophisticated natural lip color, our kiss proof Lipsense in Bella, that matched the flecks in her floral bouquet.

Las Vegas Wedding Makeup and Hair

The final product was WHOA!!!! Can we say what a great “come to together!”

Las Vegas Wedding Hair and Makeup

Bridesmaids in different colored rose gold and blush inspired gowns, along with Riley’s sleek, sophisticated, yet classic, sexy style dress made everyone stop in their tracks when everyone walked down the aisle. It was a picture perfect moment for these two with I’am sure many more memories to come!
