It was such an honor to be the Las Vegas wedding makeup artist for our stunning bride, Kathlyn!

Kathlyn and Jeremy make the most beautiful couple and their love for one another shines so bright.

She was sure to take Jeremy’s breath away with her crystal trimmed veil and lace, mermaid wedding gown.

First, Kathlyn started off her wedding day with girl talk and sipping on pink champagne surrounded by her best friends.

The Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Look

We gave the bride a classic updo with a bold pink lip to compliment her bridesmaid’s gorgeous dresses.

This one of a kind wedding party wore pink chiffon and rose gold sequin dresses. Each bridesmaid also chose the hairstyle they felt most beautiful wearing!

The maid of honor showed off her own unique, fully sequin dress with a thigh high slit.

The Wedding Venue

The wedding planner, Emily Reno, did an especially phenomenal job planning a gorgeous wedding for Kathlyn and Jeremy.

Their wedding at the JW Marriott could not have been more perfect for these two!

We gave Kathlyn soft curls before pinning her hair up, because of this she was able to easily let down her hair for the party of a lifetime. As a result, this gave her an entirely new bridal look for the second half of the wedding.

With flowers galore and a smoke machine during their first dance, Kathlyn and Jeremy’s reception was an unforgettable one. In fact, the floral arch alone was enough to make any wedding lover swoon!

I recommend all of my clients book a trial when hiring me as their Las Vegas wedding makeup artist.

You may be wondering why it is so necessary to do this.

A hair and makeup trial can take a lot of weight off of your shoulders and also help you make important decisions for your wedding.

Here are 3 reasons why you should book a hair and makeup trial before your big day!

1. Meet Your Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist

Chances are, you haven’t been able to meet your hair and makeup artist before now.

This will give you the chance to meet them and to also get several items checked off your wedding planning list.

You can sign your contracts, put down deposits, and discuss the details of your wedding during this time!

2. You’ll See Yourself As A Bride For The First Time

You can try on your dress and jewelry from new Museum of Jewelry offerings or these ladies watches for sale after your trial to finally see the full look come together.

THIS BEAUTY!!! We are thrilled to be chosen as Las Vegas makeup artist and hairstylist to get this gorgeous girl dolled up! Natalie and Vito’s wedding was perfect at The Grove with their family and friends. Originally, from California, Natalie knew she wanted to be glammed up to the nines! As a result, we couldnt be more thrilled to create a custom makeup and hair look just for her.

Natalie’s Custom Hair and Makeup Look

For Natalie’s trial, she was specific in wanting hair with volume! We worked on customizing a hairstyle just for her. We used about 8-10 clip in hair extensions to customize her beautiful hair look. As a result, her hair looked amazing!

If you are on the fence about getting hair extensions for your wedding day, don’t hesitate. Hair extensions such as NBR Extensions make all the difference! As a result, you will look and feel just a little “Extra” and more glam. It’s a little extra touch that adds that special element to your look.

When you are getting married, you have options for the bridesmaids hair and makeup looks. Some brides want their tribe in specific and certain looks. Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist | Marlyn and Paul

We were thrilled Marlyn chose us to be her Las Vegas wedding makeup artist and hair team. She has a HUGE party of 13 on February 2nd, at Green Valley Ranch. Marlyn was such a fun bride. We actually were apart of her sisters wedding in 2017, and as a result we knew this group well.

Wedding Makeup and Hair Trial

When Marlyn reached out me, her concern was that she was not used to wearing any makeup. She wanted to feel like herself. Marlyn wanted to love the way she looked in her photos and as a result she had two trials. At her first makeup trial we did the look above. At the second makeup trial, she wanted to see the “light wedding makeup” look.

At the end of the day, our bride chose the first makeup look which was a winner. She looked absolutely stunning! We used our special airbrush 16 hour wear formula and as a result it stayed put. Even with the rain, her wedding makeup and hair were perfect! This just goes to show how important trials can be. It is not unusual for a bride to have several trials since it is such an important day.

I think this was one of my favorite bridal party looks! Most all the bridesmaids chose half up and half down styles with braid! Everyone was looking happy and beautiful.

You could really tell Marlyn and Paul were head over heels in love with each other. It just always makes it so enjoyable to be apart of a amazing couples wedding day.

Shelley and Bo | Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist

One of the things I love most about my clients is that they request all different hair and makeup looks! We are able to customize each and every look tailored to each and every brides specific needs. As a result, they not only get a beautiful look, but they get a look that feels like them. They get a look that represents their personality and that is important feeling on your wedding day.

Trial Session

Trials are important and most of our clients do request a trial session so they can play around with a few different looks. At the time of her trial, Shelley requested a smokey eye look and we played around with a few different lipstick shades to go along with the loo and dramatic eye feel until she was comfortable with the chose light, tulip pink lip color.

Most brides will utilize their trial session as both the trial and their engagement shoot! It allows us as artists to get to know the bride and her personal style before wedding day!

Wedding Day

On the day of, we tweaked a few more things and Katie executed a gorgeous half up and half down hairstyle that was just stunning! All the bridesmaids and the bride looked gorgeous. We consult with the bride on wether she wants her bridesmaids all in the same look or if she wants to allow them to choose their own makeup look for the big day.

Bridal Trial FAQ |Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist

A Las Vegas wedding makeup artist will always say YES, to having a trial. A wedding makeup and hair trial is like “Say Yes To The Dress,” but more like “say yes, to the wedding makeup and hair!”

1. Why Does It Cost To Have a Wedding Hair and Makeup Trial Session?

Wedding makeup and hair trials are almost more important than the actual wedding day service. It takes a TON of communication on our part as the artist by asking you lots of questions to discover exactly what your looking for. Typical things we discover in the trial session are:

How you like your eyebrows filled in?
How much or little face contouring your prefer?
How you like your false eyelashes? We offer several different sizes and shapes if you want eyelash extensions.
Getting the exact lip color right so it stands out in your photos.
How you like your hair parted? (side, middle or natural)
How tight or loose you prefer the sides of the updo to be? (Do you like messy and boho style, or more of a clean look?)
…..and so much more!

There is a lot of time and experience skill that goes into a hair and makeup trial session which is why they are not discounted. This is why it is #1 reason to hire a skilled and professional wedding hair and makeup artist. In the session, the same products are used, same experience, session and traveling time.

2. How Do You Help Me Discover What I Want?

As a Las Vegas wedding makeup artist, we like to get to know you and see what kinds of images your drawn to and you like. We help and guide you through a serious of questions. As a result these detailed questions help us discover what feels more comfortable to you! Pinterest is a great resource for getting ideas and feeling inspired.

3. What If We Don’t Figure Out What I Want During The Trial?

Having a second trial is not uncommon. 99% of most of our brides, do figure out the look they love at the time of their first trial. However, it is always best to try and do some prep work before the trial session. We can help guide you through this.

4. Does It Cost Extra If I Want To Do A Second Trial Session?

We do plan a ton of time are your first trial session, so we typically don’t book trials on Saturdays and recommend scheduling out at least 2.5 hours for your session. As a result, we do find that is plenty of time to secure a look. If a second trial is requested, additional charges will occur.

As a result, 100% of all our clients are SO GLAD they opted in for a wedding hair and makeup trial session! You don’t want to be experimenting on one of the most important days of your life. Trials certainly help ease your nerves going into wedding day and make the experience so enjoyable!

Wedding Makeup Artist Pro Tips

Prepping for your wedding day can feel overwhelming! Here are some wedding makeup artist pro tips in making sure your look is perfect on the big day!

Treat Your Skin

Your wedding makeup will only look as well as you take care of your skin. Therefore being on a regular skincare routine, at least 4-6 weeks before the wedding is necessary in having beautiful smooth skin. I, personally, like to provide a custom tailored skin care routine to all my clients based on the current condition of their skin. You should at least be cleansing, exfoliating, using a serum, eye cream and moisturizer. Exfoliators, Serums and Eye Creams should NOT be purchased from your local drugstore as the ingredients have too many harsh chemical agents that tend to do more harm than good.

Book A Trial

Even if you are a destination bride, you should ALWAYS book a trial, for your wedding makeup, even if its the day before. Trials should consist of a full regular hair and makeup session and should at least be 2 hours for a successful trial with optimal results. Sometimes, even more time is needed. I would hesitate with any wedding makeup artist saying their trial is less than that time frame because you need to be able to spend time with the artist and get to know your wants, desires and best suitable option for wedding makeup. Its like saying “Yes to the Dress” but saying “Yes to the Makeup!”

Consider Your Dress

Your wedding makeup should match your dress. Not literally, of course, but the formality of it. If you dress is more light and boho, then the makeup should reflect that a bit so it all goes together for one beautiful shot. If your dress is super dramatic with lots of bling, the makeup, or course can be a more dramatic look.

Have More Than One Wedding Makeup Look

By having more than one option for your wedding makeup will give you more to work with. Sometimes, what you imagined for your look, doesn’t always translate well on you! Thats where we come in to help make subtle changes so the look translates well on you! By choosing a professional wedding makeup artist, the artist should be able to look at your inspiration photos and help determine what you like about each photo to customize and translate it well for your personal face shape and needs. That is why its always important to go with someone who is experienced.

Consider Your Florals

Your floral colors can sometimes set the makeup look for the big day! You want the colors of your look to compliment the floral arrangements, as well as, your wedding bouquet. It all has a trickle effect, in creating the perfect look. My advice is choose the makeup inspiration photos after you have determined your wedding colors. Your wedding makeup artist will help you in customizing the perfect look. This will help everything flow together nicely for the perfect wedding day!

Destination Wedding Makeup | Kate and Casey

When you get asked to fly for a destination wedding to do the brides wedding makeup and hair, you cant help but feel so excited and thrilled! Kate married Casey on 5.18.17 in beautiful St Augustine, Florida at The White Room a gorgeous venue overlooking the Lions Bay Bridge. Casey having some Hawaiian roots, Kate and Casey chose to have Hawaiian styled elements throughout the ceremony and reception with a simple laid back feel. Therefore, when it came to Kate’s makeup, we went for the same approach.

When I get asked for destination wedding makeup and hair, sometimes it can be a little tricky depending on what the climate is, as Vegas has complete opposite weather from Florida’s natural humidity. This is where my skill in chemistry comes in handy. Most people don’t think about the chemistry behind wedding makeup, but there is TONS of chemistry behind application and product to achieve long wear durability.

When determining what type of wedding makeup to apply, we first evaluate the clients skin type and texture, then build from there. I used a very light weight airbrush spray foundation on Kate with an underlying matte primer to help with the humidity a bit. Kate requested a very understated simple, but clean look and I think we nailed it. We contoured her cheeks slightly with Lorac Pro shimmer in Moonlight and Mac Cosmetics sculpting powder in Shadester with a kiss of Nars Orgasm blush. Kate wore our kiss proof lipsense color in Bombshell.

While bride was happy and groom even happier staring into his princesses eyes, we were successful! Kate’s wedding makeup was stunning and Alex did such an amazing job capturing their love for each other!

Makeup Tips For Your Vegas Wedding

Hello Beauties!

When it comes to your Vegas wedding, its not just up to the makeup artist to make you beautiful. Having a proper skin care routine and personal grooming, leading up to the big wedding day can help make or break your look! If your not blessed with good skin, here are a few wedding makeup tips that can help perfect your dream look.

2-4 Weeks Before Wedding:

-Start with a good skin care routine of Cleansing, Exfoliating, Using a Serum, Eye Cream and Moisturizer will help give your skin the nutrients it needs to give you that smooth skin and radiant glow.

-Get your hair color freshened up, and polished

1 Week Before Wedding:

-Schedule all waxing Appointments (face, eyebrows, lip and those girly bits:))

-Get a Deep Conditioning Treatment on your hair for extra vibrance

2 Days Before Wedding:

-Get your Spray Tan ( We offer this service!) and schedule your trial (if you are a destination bride and are flying in a few days before).

-Drink a green juice. This will help flush out any toxins you may have so you feel good and refreshed.

The Night Before The BIG Day:

-Wash hair and try not to use too much product

-Exfoliate or mask your face for a perfected soft glow. Dont forget to exfoliate your lips.

THE BIG DAY:

-Make sure your hair is dry and clean (unless otherwise advised)

-Wash and gently moisturize your face

-Wear clothing that you can easily take on and off over the head. Button down shirts of zipper hoodies are recommended.

These makeup tips for your wedding, will for sure guarantee the look you will love on your most memorable day in Vegas!
