Hello and welcome to my lifestyle blog! Wedding makeup artist by day and living a fabulous life 365 days of the year. I was inspired to start this blog to share more wedding inspiration, my journey in hopes to inspire others.
I chose the name Wedding Tales and Cocktails for a few different reasons. One, “wedding tales” is all the wedding inspiration, I get to live on a daily bases with Las Vegas being the number one wedding destination in the United States and number 2 in the entire world, and of course our adventures in our newest location- San Diego!
Two, “cocktails” ( a bend of mixing up things) comes from wanting to share a little more fun in between about my journey, love of fashion, travels, and my most amazing 16 our wear kiss proof lip color! Yep, it’s real people and it does not dry out the lips!
Its time to get excited about life! Stay tuned for videos, makeup tips on the best makeup, and blog posts on “How to Pack for your Honeymoon” and “Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations Around the World.” Oh, we cant forget the lip cocktail of the day, because a woman is never dressed until she dresses her lip! Carpe Diem!
When it comes to your Vegas wedding, its not just up to the makeup artist to make you beautiful. Having a proper skin care routine and personal grooming, leading up to the big wedding day can help make or break your look! If your not blessed with good skin, here are a few wedding makeup tips that can help perfect your dream look.
2-4 Weeks Before Wedding:
-Start with a good skin care routine of Cleansing, Exfoliating, Using a Serum, Eye Cream and Moisturizer will help give your skin the nutrients it needs to give you that smooth skin and radiant glow.
-Get your hair color freshened up, and polished
1 Week Before Wedding:
-Schedule all waxing Appointments (face, eyebrows, lip and those girly bits:))
-Get a Deep Conditioning Treatment on your hair for extra vibrance
2 Days Before Wedding:
-Get your Spray Tan ( We offer this service!) and schedule your trial (if you are a destination bride and are flying in a few days before).
-Drink a green juice. This will help flush out any toxins you may have so you feel good and refreshed.
The Night Before The BIG Day:
-Wash hair and try not to use too much product
-Exfoliate or mask your face for a perfected soft glow. Dont forget to exfoliate your lips.
THE BIG DAY:
-Make sure your hair is dry and clean (unless otherwise advised)
-Wash and gently moisturize your face
-Wear clothing that you can easily take on and off over the head. Button down shirts of zipper hoodies are recommended.

Las Vegas has some interesting wedding venues, but this one took our makeup and hair inspiration back to the classic beautiful California Coast at the Four Seasons Hotel on September 4th, 2016 where Michele said her “I do” to Edward.
I was super excited to hear I was working with the wonderful Susie and Will with Susie and Will Photography. They are amazing photographers that specialize in natural light and, also, do destination weddings!

It’s funny! Most brides always want a very light, natural look at first, then experience the trial session and get to wear their dream look for the day and realize they can do a little more by wedding day.

Michele was very specific with the look she wanted for her special day. We started with a trial session over the Summer with inspiration she chose of bronze glow, light makeup looks and a more sophsticated updo which pin curls seemed to be the theme.

Come wedding day, 7 bridesmaids and 1 bride, Michele had her bronze glow, with a more heavier eye look, but still kept the look and feel natural using more chocolate and champagne tones on her eyes.

In the online world every growing and changing, we can book our wedding online with just a few clicks and never meet anyone who will be involved in the most important day of our lives! Sure, while it’s great to have everything right at our finger tips, to create a quick and easy way to get things done, I wanted to take the time out to create some insider tips on why its not always best just because it’s easy!
1. We want to get to know YOU!
Hair and makeup is SUCH a personal process! If you tell me you want me to make you look natural, natural to me is different from your type of natural, so it’s always good to spend a little time, with you, getting to know your personal makeup style and how you wear makeup on a daily basis.
2. Large Groups Take Time
With any wedding party of 4 or more, we have to make sure your bridesmaids dont out shine the bride! We never book a large party without at least speaking to the bride on the phone, if possible, and finding out more information about the group. Do they all have long hair, are there any ethnicity needs? Do any of them have hair extensions? These are all factors to discuss with your artist beforehand so your group can be on a timely session.

3. Your Personal Style
Like I said before, we want to get to know YOU! Why? If your having a rustic/vintage themed wedding, we dont want to give you a roaring 1920’s makeup and hair look. We go through a unique customization process during the online consultation to create a personal look for you using your wedding inspiration theme or photos.
4. Best Skin = Best Makeup
Yes, your makeup will only look as good as your skin! We need to know what you have been doing thus far for your skin so we an make some helpful suggestions to get it looking perfect! I dont care how good the makeup is, get on a proper skin care routine. Cleanse, Serum, Eye Cream and Moisturizer, AND dont forget to exfoliate 2-3 times per week. If you need help- ask me!

5. 2 Day Dirty Hair
Who all has heard to come to the wedding with 2 day dirty hair? While this works with some brides, this doesnt always work for everyone. If its fine or thin, we might want you to come with clean, dry hair. Again, this is why the trial and or consultation is so important so we an have the opportunity to tell you how to come prepared to best outcome!

It’s a unique, special and beautiful city and I hope to share in this blog with you some tips and tricks for planning a Las Vegas wedding, hair and makeup tips, and love stories. We might veer a little bit along with way of my latest passions, but the point is to help brides prepare for the wedding, teach, educate and celebrate LOVE!
Michelle couldnt have been the sweetest! We customized her Las Vegas hair and makeup look to match the theme to her elopement. Being a midwest girl, Michelle chose a succulent bouquet, and as a result matched perfectly with the desert backdrop.
For Michelle’s hair and makeup she opted for a simple updo, because the focus was more on the makeup. For her makeup, we used warm brown earth tones that would, again, bring out the desert feel for the entire look. We paired the smokey eyes with a pale pink lip just to add a touch of feminine to the feel.
Jennifer was thrilled to have her Las Vegas hair and makeup custom designed to match her sassy purple hair. She and Ricky had a “surprise” elopement that couldn’t been far from perfect. They told their family and friends AFTER they got hitched, as as a result was a huge surprise!
It was important for Jennifer to find a hair and makeup style that suited her non conventional personal style, and as a result, we rolled with the purple hair! We loved pairing up her makeup look to match her gorgeous wedding bouquet because it was stunning! Matching her makeup to something that looked elegant but not too traditional was a piece of cake for us. We combined some plum and brown shades into her eye look! Jennifer pulled off a super rich berry lip that couldn’t have been more than perfect for her. It simply matched everything. She was picture perfect meeting Ricky at the alter!

Kylea and Stephen had a dream elopement wedding and we couldnt be more thrilled that she chose us to be her Las Vegas wedding makeup artist. I think what was so unique and special about this wedding is that they really custom planned and chose everything themselves down to the very last details and string quartet. As a result, it looked like a dream!
Married 10.2.18 with a guest count of 16, located at Springs Preserve elopements are certainly taking on a more modern approach now. For us, at Brianna Michelle Beauty it’s all about customization and personalization for the bride. Kylea chose a semi dramatic wedding makeup look, using earth toned eye colors, but we still kept it super clean. By playing up here eyes, we opted for double lashes and a soft natural lip shade in pink that matched her bouquet.
By choosing a strapless dress, Kylea opted to have her hair down around her shoulders, simple with soft waves. The simple, clean yet dramatic look, was PERFECT for the style and dress, and wedding elements she had. Everything was able to tie together and, as a result it was picture perfect!
Tip: Springs Preserve is one of the most popular venues in Vegas and they book out a year in advance so book early.
I have to say with working with so many people coming from all over the place to get married Brianna and her team have this down to a science. Victoria came in and was absolutely AMAZING! I could not have dreamed of a more wonderful person to help make my day exactly as I had hoped for. My Mother In Law also looked amazing as for someone who is older, fairer skin and doesn’t wear a lot of makeup Victoria was great at communicating with her and making sure she looked great!- 7/31/18
